Description	:	Ruth Fox Mace passed peacefully on July 3, 2014. Born in Laurel on Jan. 29, 1925, Ruth was a child of immigrant parents. She was proud of her family for overcoming hardship and for their loyalty as citizens of the United States, their adopted country. Living in Boston and San Francisco during World War II, she, like many women of her generation, aided the war effort, working as a shipyard clerk. Read More	Ruth Fox Mace passed peacefully on July 3, 2014. Born in Laurel on Jan. 29, 1925, Ruth was a child of immigrant parents. She was proud of her family for overcoming hardship and for their loyalty as citizens of the United States, their adopted country. Living in Boston and San Francisco during World War II, she, like many women of her generation, aided the war effort, working as a shipyard clerk. After the war, Ruth returned home to Laurel and married her husband Bob. They were avid square dancers and shared many happy memories with numerous friends around the world who danced with them. Ruth enjoyed a 30-year career in Laurel working for Cenex Harvest States. Ruth loved to travel, and often proudly proclaimed that she had visited every state. Also an ardent reader, she stealthily checked a certain page in each book she borrowed from the library to avoid accidentally reading it again later. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. They became the most important people in her world, and she was looking forward to the arrival of her first great-grandchild in October. She very much loved her nieces and nephews and was known as Aunt Ruthie or the "kissing aunt." Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents George and Eva Fox, brothers Art, Ed, Dan, Alec, Alex and Jake, sisters Clara, Amelia, Emma and Julia. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Karen Mace; her grandchildren Ann Mace (Ken) and Joseph Mace; brother and sister-in-law George and Helen Fox; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their loving spouses and children. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Michelotti-Sawyers (1001 Alderson Ave, Billings) with graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Remembrances may be shared with the family by visiting www.michelottisawyers.com
