Read More	"Falling victim to a stomach and intestinal ailment with which she had patiently suffered almost since infancy, Ruth Gertrude Waite, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Waite, passed away at her home in Broadus at 1 o'clock on the morning of November 25. In her latest attack she had been confined to her home 17 days. Obsequies were conducted at the Masonic hall Saturday afternoon with the Rev. John Duncan of Coalwood presiding. The hall was overcrowded and seating accommodations were not ample for all who came to pay their last respects to the child whom they knew and cherished for her many sterling qualities. The casket enfolding the remains was completely covered with cut flowers and greens placed there by relatives, the Masonic lodge, the Sunday school, the Ladies Aid Society and the public school. A long procession of automobiles followed the remains to Valley View cemetery where interment occurred after Bible readings by Rev. Duncan. The loss of Ruth Waite came as a sad bereavement not only to her immediate relatives but the entire community as well mourns her loss and extends heartfelt sympathy especially to the sorrowing father and mother. Everything possible had been done by them to better the health of their daughter, even taking her to Rochester, Minn., for treatment, but to no avail for a Divine Providence had willed otherwise. The relatives wish to take this opportunity of expressing their heartfelt thanks to all who gave them aid and comfort in their bereavement. Ruth Gertrude Waite was born in Miles City June 26, 1911, and was attending the sixth grade in the Broadus public school at the time of her fatal illness. Her departure is mourned there by her schoolmates, for she had endeared herself to all. In passing to the Great Beyond, Ruth left behind her father and mother and infant sister Betty, as well as other relatives, among whom were present at the funeral services; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Waite and children; uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Ray F. Tarbell; grandmother, Mrs. K. G. Burgel of Twin Bridges; and aunt, Mrs. Charles Jay of Minneapolis. Mrs. A. W. Harper, an intimate friend of Mrs. Waite's came from Melstone." The Powder River Examiner, December 2, 1921
