Description	:	Ruth G. Ohlrichs, 76, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Unity Point Heath-St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. with Rev. Dr. Jean Ziettlow and Rev. Chris Meier officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Johnson Township, rural Merrill, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. with Rev. Dr. Jean Ziettlow and Rev. Chris Meier officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Johnson Township, rural Merrill, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars followed by a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Friday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials are preferred to the Plymouth County Fairgrounds or the Window Restoration Project at St. John's Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Denton Ohlrichs, Claire Ohlrichs, Sterling Schnepf, Paris Schnepf, Krayton Schnepf, Tyler Meyer, and Jake Solsma. Honorary casket bearers will be her many friends she played cards with. Ruth Grace Schuette was born on July 31, 1939 in Hawarden, Iowa to Emil and Emma (Oloff) Schuette. She was raised on a farm between the “Twin Cities” of Craig and Struble. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church in Craig, Iowa. She attended country school in Grant Township and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1958. After high school, she worked at the Clerk of Courts in Plymouth County. Ruth was united in marriage to Donald Ohlrichs on August 30, 1963 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Craig. They lived on a farm in Plymouth Township where they farmed and raised cattle and hogs. Ruth worked at Westmar College Cafeteria for a few years when the children were young. In 1980, she returned to working at the Clerk of Courts until she retired in 2006. Ruth and Don moved to Le Mars in December 2000. Ruth was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and later joined St. John’s Lutheran when they moved to Le Mars. Ruth enjoyed embroidering, quilting, playing cards, pinochle, taking day trips, going to county fairs, and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and attending the activities of their grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her husband, Don; three children: Gary (Charletta) Ohlrichs of Merrill, Sharon (Richard) Schnepf of Granville, and Wayne (Barb) Ohlrichs of Norfolk, NE; five grandchildren: Denton Ohlrichs, Claire Ohlrichs, Sterling Schnepf and her fiancé Tyler Meyer, Paris Schnepf and her fiancé Jake Solsma, and Krayton Schnepf; two sisters-in-law, Ida Schuette of Sioux Falls, and Bernice Less of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Emma (Oloff) Schuette; a brother, Dale Schuette; and a sister, Ellen Schuette. [Courtesy: Carlsen Funeral Homes]
