Description	:	SALISBURY - Ruth Gresham McCall, of Salisbury, entered the Church Triumphant Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, while a resident of Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. - She was born July 9, 1910, in Georgia to parents George W. and Martha Gresham. - In 1932, she married the late James Boyd McCall. They were married for 47 years until James' death in 1979. Also deceased is one of her sons, Alex McCall. - Surviving are her two sons, James Boyd McCall, Jr. of Greenville, S.C., and Robert "Bud" McCall of Piedmont, S.C., and her daughter, Myrna Van Ravestein of Lake Norman. Read More	SALISBURY - Ruth Gresham McCall, of Salisbury, entered the Church Triumphant Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, while a resident of Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. - She was born July 9, 1910, in Georgia to parents George W. and Martha Gresham. - In 1932, she married the late James Boyd McCall. They were married for 47 years until James' death in 1979. Also deceased is one of her sons, Alex McCall. - Surviving are her two sons, James Boyd McCall, Jr. of Greenville, S.C., and Robert "Bud" McCall of Piedmont, S.C., and her daughter, Myrna Van Ravestein of Lake Norman. Other family members include 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Local survivors include granddaughter the Rev. Lori Hefner and husband Rev. Doug Hefner; and great-grandchildren Matthew and Elizabeth Hefner. - As a faithful servant of God, Ruth was a very active member of Tremont Church of God, where for many years she served as a Sunday School teacher, as a member of the Prayer and Shut-in Ministry Team and in Women of the Church. - Service/Visitation: In thanksgiving to God for the life and faith of Ruth and her legacy of love, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at Tremont Church of God in Greenville, S.C., on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 12 Noon with the Rev. Tim Kerns officiating. Visitation with the family and viewing will take place 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Park, with the Revs. Doug and Lori Hefner officiating. - The honorary pallbearers will be the Unity Sunday School Class and Prayer Band of Tremont Church of God. - Memorials: Memorials may be made in loving memory of Ruth to Tremont Church of God, P.O. Box 2187, Greenville, SC 29602-2187; Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road, Salisbury, NC 28144; or Rowan Regional Home Health and Hospice, 720 Grove St., Salisbury, NC 28144. - Lyerly Funeral Home is assisting the McCall family. - The family wishes to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home for their wonderful care for Ruth over the last four years and the staff of Rowan Regional Home Health & Hospice for their support and care in the last days of her life.
