Description	:	Daughter of Andrew and Lillie (Frahm) Miller, was born on Oct. 9, 1924, near Mount Vernon, S.D., where she graduated from high school in 1942. After high school, she helped to care for a family doing cooking and cleaning. Ruth also worked at an egg candling factory. After high school, she helped to care for a family doing cooking and cleaning. Ruth also worked at an egg candling factory. On March 21, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to William (Bill) Devern Berglund (son of Oscar and Ella Berglund) at the Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. They made their home in the Schuyler area where they farmed and Ruth worked hard to provide meals and care for their family as well as pitching in on the farm to help wherever needed. They moved to Albion in 1965 and ran the Downtowne Motel, later opening RuBi's Cafe in 1982. Along with caring for their family and working alongside Bill to run the motel and cafe, Ruth also worked part time in retail at various times and had many hobbies, including cooking, crafts and reading. Ruth was a hard worker, excellent cook and always there to offer a helping hand, support or words of advice. She instilled her work ethic and values in her family and set a good example for everyone she came in contact with. She had a loving heart and warm welcome and will be missed greatly by all of her family and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Lillie, husband Bill, infant daughter Patricia, sister Dorothy Herbst and one grandson Tyler. Ruth is survived by eight children, Michael (Marsha) of Ashville, Ala.; Ronald (Joann) of Syracuse, Kan.; Donald (Mary) of LaVista; Stewart (Normay) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Curt (Lisa) of Albion; Bradd (Sherry) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Leeta (Kurt) Cruise of Omaha; Carma (Pat) Dirkschneider of Fremont; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Kenneth, David, Curtis, Eric and Brian Berglund, Lyssi, Bryn and Addi Dirkschneider; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gilbert (Arlene) Miller of Mitchell, S.D.; sister, Phyllis (Noel) Koch, along with many nieces and nephews.
