Ruth Helen Soper was born Feb. 2, 1905 in Adair County, Iowa to Isaac N. Taylor and Edith Taylor Boos. She attended schools in Adair and Cass counties and graduated from Anita High School in 1923. She attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and received her Bachelor's degree from Drake University. She taught in the Cass and Adair county schools, public school at Bonner's Ferry, Idaho, Manning, and the YJB school systems. She retired to Audubon in 1973, and continued as an active volunteer worker at Friendship Home, the blood bank program and other community projects. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, Order of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and I.S.E.A. Mrs. Soper is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Delbert (Shirley) Hughes, Panora; one son, Gerald (Bud) Soper, Adair; four grandchildren; one brother, Murvin Taylor, Cumberland; and one sister, Mrs. Faye Denham, Port Hill, Idaho."
