Ruth Irene (Glynn) Wilke was born April 2, 1918, in Ransom County, north of Milnor, ND, to Patrick & Alma Glynn. She had three brothers and four sisters. Read More	Ruth Wilke, 101, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Fullerton, ND, died June 4, 2019 at the Villa Maria Care Center in Fargo, ND. Ruth Irene (Glynn) Wilke was born April 2, 1918, in Ransom County, north of Milnor, ND, to Patrick & Alma Glynn. She had three brothers and four sisters. Her first ten years of schooling were at Sydna Township School. The family then moved to Fullerton, ND, where she attended high school and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1936. She went on to get her teaching certificate at the Normal Industrial School in Ellendale, ND. She taught school for four years in Willey Township, and then married Mark Wilke in 1942. They farmed near Milnor, ND for four years, before moving to Fullerton, ND in 1948, and raised nine children. She was a stay at home mom until all of her children were in school. She then went on to work as a nurse’s aide in the Ellendale Nursing Home for many years and also as a teacher’s aide in the Fullerton Public School. She served as Fullerton City Auditor for twenty years and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. After living in Fullerton for 62 years, Ruth spent her last years at Villa Maria in Fargo. She was cared for by their tremendous staff and took part in many of the activities they had to offer. As well as being a loving mother, she was an accomplished poet, seamstress and quilter. Ruth touched many lives and will be greatly missed. She is survived by three daughters, Iris, Rebecca (Kent Langseth) and Cecile; five sons, Steven (Peggy), John (Ophie), Marshall (Lynda), Lesley (Marsha) and Kevin; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark; daughter, Carol; daughter & son-in-law, Karen (James) Walsh; grandson, Rusty Howdeshell; four sisters & their husbands, Bernadine (Edward) Nicolai; Marguerite (Winnie) Freeberg; Mary (Raymond) Betting and Dorothy (Norman) Schill; and three brothers & their wives, Vernon (Rose) Glynn; Gerald (Angela) Glynn and Kenneth (Alice) Glynn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Fullerton, ND. A private family burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
