She moved with her parents to a farm on Tallin Table in Custer County at a young age. She met and then married Ferald Johnson on April 2, 1930, after he came to work for her parents on their farm. Read More	Thanks to contributor #46814593; Ruth Strasburg, 98, of Arnold, was born to Charles and Agda Anderson Jacobson June 28, 1909 in Syracuse. She passed away May 31, 2008 in Callaway. She moved with her parents to a farm on Tallin Table in Custer County at a young age. She met and then married Ferald Johnson on April 2, 1930, after he came to work for her parents on their farm. To this union, two daughters were born, LeEtta And Arlene. Ruth and Ferald farmed until they moved to town in the early 1950s. This move created a new opportunity for Ruth in food services as a waitress. In 1956, she was employed by the Arnold School District as a cafeteria worker. Her expertise in cooking earned her the position of Cafeteria Manager. The cafeteria was moved to the new grade school building, where she continued employment for 34 years. In 1964, her husband, Ferald, passed away. In 1967, she married Vurl Strasburg and continued her work in the cafeteria. She retired in 1990, at the age of 81, to care for Vurl until his death in 1994. Ruth continued to enjoy life with her sewing crocheting and making gifts for family and friends. She also enjoyed the companionship of her close friends and neighbors, many who made daily visits to her in her home, having coffee, goodies and conversation. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers; one sister; one grandson; and four nephews. Survivors include her daughters, LeEtta Klein (Gene) of Menifee, Calif. and Arlene Eastburn (Tom) of Temecula, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one stepson; one step-granddaughter; three step great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews. Services were June 7, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Arnold. Burial was in the Tallin Cemetery south of Arnold. Memorials may go to the Baptist Church building fund. Arnold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
