The funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Wessington Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. William Pfautz officiating. Burial was in the Wessington Cemetery. The funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Wessington Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. William Pfautz officiating. Burial was in the Wessington Cemetery. Ruth Jan Burton was born September 13, 1910 at St. Lawrence to Arthur and Nina (Everson) Burton. ON June 29, 1931, she married Claud L. Sutton at Pierre, (South Dakota). They Lived at Newell for a short time, the moved to Wessington. After the death of husband on August 25, 1984, she moved to Laurens, IA, to live with her daughter, in November 1993 they moved to Omaha. She was a member of the Wessington Presbyterian Church, Royal Neighbors and Times to Spare of Laurens. Survivors included three daughters Mrs. Frank (Janet) Wahl of Laurens, IA, Mrs. Dallas (Gerri) Gordon, Scottsdale, AZ and Mrs. Jim (Glenda) Canfield, Temple, AZ; seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren; one brother and his wife, John and Wanda Burton Midland TX; and three sisters Mrs. Royal (Verna) Bittner and Mrs. Hollis (Katie) Schessier, both of Rapid City, and Mrs. Lambeth (Gladys) Wilson of Salton Sea, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, and infant daughter, Marlys, two grandchildren, Carla and DeRonda; Three brothers, Lee George and Vernon Burton: three sisters, Iva O'Conner, Maxine Magness and Pearl Seigling. Pallbearers were Steve, Doug. Scott, David, Matt and Corey Wahl. Buried in the Wessington, South Dakota, Cemetery nest to her husband Claud L. Sutton.
