When she was three months old the family moved to York where she attended high school, graduating from high school in 1943. Following graduation she was a bookkeeper at the First National Bank. She was united in marriage to M. Don Hennings of Stromsburg, Neb., on April 28, 1946. To this union one son was born, Gregory Lee, age two. She has made her home in Des Moines, Iowa, since October, 1946, with her husband and son. Ruth was baptized in infancy, and joined the Methodist church of York at an early age, transfering her membership to Des Moines, Iowa about one year ago. Surviving are her husband, M. Don Hennings, son Gregory Lee, her mother, Mrs. Alta Pickrel of York; two brothers, Hugh E. of Rocky Ford, Colo., and Evan W. of San Antonio, Tex.; two sisters, Vera Smith of Scotia, Neb., and Dorothy Tucker of Lincoln, Neb., her grandmother, Mrs. Anna Pickrel of York, two nieces and five nephews, and a host of loving friends and relatives.
