Born in Abbeville Co. SC, she was a daughter of the late Warren D. Lawton and Rosa Lawton. Ruby Lawton Link, 99, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home widow of Andrew Clark Link passed away Wednesday Dec. 17, 2014 at the nursing home. Born in Abbeville Co. SC, she was a daughter of the late Warren D. Lawton and Rosa Lawton. She was a retired Textile employee with Milliken Textiles after many years of service. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church where she was the oldest living member. Ruby will be remembered for her loving smile and her caring nature. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Ponds and Rose Graham (Roger) both of Abbeville, SC; two sons, Warren D. and Dennis Link both of Abbeville, SC; two brothers, Clarence Lawton of Abbeville, SC and Morris Lawton of Hodges; one sister, Frances Leslie of Abbeville, SC; two grandchildren and a number of great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson Clarkie Ponds. Funeral services will be conducted Friday Dec. 19, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Fastenau officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home of her daughter Mrs. Juanita Ponds 105 Hickory St. Abbeville, SC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Friday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services.
