Ruth Lorma Anna Hanau was born on October 25, 1919, to Oscar and Emma (Miller) Hanau on the family farm in rural Cook, Nebraska. Ruth was baptized on November 16, 1919, by Rev. Read More	Ruth Lorma Anna Juilfs, 98, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Burr, Nebraska, passed away on July 3, 2018, at the Gateway Vista in Lincoln. Ruth Lorma Anna Hanau was born on October 25, 1919, to Oscar and Emma (Miller) Hanau on the family farm in rural Cook, Nebraska. Ruth was baptized on November 16, 1919, by Rev. Adix at the family farm. She was confirmed on March 25, 1934, by Rev. Paul Mall at St. Paul's Helena Church, rural Cook, Nebraska. She attended Maple Grove, District #86, rural school in Otoe County and graduated from the eighth grade. She helped many farm neighbor's as a domestic helper. She worked in Lincoln, Nebraska, in various positions. She married Lester Guy Juilfs on April 23, 1942, by Rev. Mall at St. Paul's Helena Church. After Lester's return from army service in 1945, they began to farm and together they were blessed with four children, Kenneth, Delores (Dee), Delton and Carol. Ruth was an energetic housewife as well as helping in farming activities. The family were members of Hope Lutheran Church in Burr, Nebraska, where Ruth taught Sunday School for several years. In later years, Ruth and Lester became members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Ruth enjoyed quilting, embroidery, baking, gardening, canning, ceramics and sending cards. She was a member of her neighborhood Help Each Other Club for many, many years. A fun and memorable award that she received was in 1988 at the Burr Centennial when she won, "Best of Show" and "First Place" on her quilts. In 1989, at the age of 70, Ruth returned to school and obtained her GED. In 2010, at the age of 91, Ruth moved to Lincoln to be near family members, but her heart and spirit were never far from her rural roots and friends in Burr and the surrounding communities. Ruth was a very loving and caring person, always thinking of others first. To her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a shining example of courage, inspiration, strength and steadfast faithfulness. She will be missed by many. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carol (Dave) Tyler; son-in-law, Gary Meeske; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Creed, Lincoln, Nebraska, Brian (Natalie) Meeske, Omaha, Nebraska, Nikki Tyler, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Chris (Kelly) Tyler, Kalona, Iowa; 7 great-grandchildren, Meg Meeske, Ashtyn Meeske, Mitchell Meeske, William Creed and Kinsley Ruth Tyler; brother-in-law Fred (Lois) Juilfs; nephews, Jim (Barb) Nelson, Ron (Judy) Beckman, Tim (Sally) Juilfs, Pat (Lisa) Juilfs; nieces Phyllis Nelson and Pam (Rob) Rhinehart, other relatives and friends. In death Ruth rejoins her husband and love of her life, Lester; sons Kenneth Juilfs and Delton Juilfs; daughter Delores (Dee) Meeske; parents Oscar and Emma (Miller) Hanau; brothers Mervin Hanau and infant Henry Hanau; sisters Ethel Hanau and Mabel (Clarence) Nelson; parents-in-law Fred and Elsie (Rowe) Juilfs; sister-in-law Darline (Reinhard) Beckman; nephews Jim Beckman and Don Beckman; other relatives and friends.
