Read More	Ruth Luverne Stevens was born Sept. 3, 1897, near Bonaparte, Iowa, and departed this life on Dec. 10, 1917, being at the time of her death 20 years, 3 months and 7 days of age. On Feb. 27, 1917, she was united in marriage to Ralph G. Huff and to this union was born one son, John Vinton. Besides the husband and son, she leaves to mourn their loss, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stevens of Bonaparte, five brothers, Cass, Clive and Leon of Moline, Ill., Lloyd and Joe of Bonaparte and one sister, Mrs. Mate Cook of Salem, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Ruth's entire life was spent in and around Bonaparte and attending public school here and later taking the teachers' course at Iowa Wesleyan, Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Ladies of Modern Maccabee Lodge and an attendant of the Baptist Sunday School and the Young People's Society of the same church and there she will be greatly missed. Ruth was one who had endeared herself to many hearts outside her family circle. In her school life and among the residents of the town where she has spent most of her life and where she is known and loved, there has been nothing but expressions of sadness and regret at the passing of the sweet young life scarcely more than an opened bud to the great garden of life. Seemingly with so much to leave – the young husband and the little baby life so recently a part of their home – God in His infinite wisdom knoweth best and has promised his healing comfort to those who are left behind. Services were held in the Baptist Church Dec. 12, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Peterson assisted by Rev. Seeds. A large crowd came to pay the last tribute to the deceased. Interment was at the White Cemetery.
