She was born February 20, 1907, at Dubois, Nebraska, to Henry and Nellie (Cummins) Britt. The family lived in eastern Nebraska where she attended school and graduated from Rushville High School. She married Glen Stinson June 5, 1925, at Hot Springs, South Dakota. They loved at both Cody and Rushville in Nebraska. In 1935 they moved to Washington, settling at Waterville in 1937. Stinson, 836, a longtime Waterville resident, died Tuesday evening, January 29, 1991, in Parkside Manor, Wenatchee. She was born February 20, 1907, at Dubois, Nebraska, to Henry and Nellie (Cummins) Britt. The family lived in eastern Nebraska where she attended school and graduated from Rushville High School. She married Glen Stinson June 5, 1925, at Hot Springs, South Dakota. They loved at both Cody and Rushville in Nebraska. In 1935 they moved to Washington, settling at Waterville in 1937. The couple owned and operated the Waterville Empire-Press for nine years. Mrs. Stinson wrote the social news, helped with the bookkeeping and operated the linotype. They both worked at the Brewster Herald-Reporter for six years as operators and did press work. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, holding offices in both the Waterville Lodge and the District Group. Survivors include her husband, at home; one son, Harold Stinson of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two daughters, Lola VanDyke of Spokane and Helen Jordan of Seattle; two brothers, Lloyd Britt of Thousand Oaks, California, and Bob Britt of Wenatchee; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, February 1, 1991, in the Waterville Federated Church. Reverend Mike O'Neal officiated. Concluding services and the interment in the Waterville Cemetery. Arrangements by the Waterville Funeral Home. child: Lola B.
