Description	:	Ruth Keim, 79, 2026 N. Kavaney Drive, Bismarck, passed away March 4, 2000, at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Joel Sherer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, both at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck. Ruth was born Dec. 30, 1920, at rural Ashley, the youngest child of 10 children of Konrad and Christina Pfeifle. She attended schools in Ashley and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. Ruth was employed at Great Falls, Mont., and at Davenport, Iowa, for a couple of years. She then taught school in rural Ashley for six years. On May 23, 1943, she married Raymond Keim at Fort Knox, Ky., where Raymond was stationed. She was employed at the PX at Fort Knox and also at Fort Campbell, Tenn. After the war, they resided at Ashley for five years and moved to Bismarck in 1950. Ruth was employed at the Bismarck Tribune for 29 years, and then with the N.D. Legislative Council during the 1980-1981 session and also the Children's Outlet for six years. From 1975 to 1996, she was on the board of the Disabled Workers of N.D. as recording secretary and treasurer. Ruth volunteered at Faith Lutheran Church where she was a member since 1950, and also the Friendship Circle doing quilting and crafting. Ruth adored her daughter, Karen, and two special grandsons, Jason and Justin. She loved baby-sitting them and loved cooking and baking for them. She also had a special bonding with nieces and nephews who grew up with her. She is survived by her daughter, Karen K. Marter, Bismarck; two grandsons, Jason, Portland, Ore., and Justin, Bismarck; one sister, Emelia Kosel, Ellendale; three sisters-in-law, Christine Pfeifle, Bismarck, Evalina Schwarz, Garrison, and Alvera Glur, Ashley; 17 nieces and 15 nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1977; five brothers and three sisters, four nephews and one niece. Memorials may be sent to Faith Lutheran Church or Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. (Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck)
