Description	:	Ruth was born of May 29, 1925 in Barton City, Michigan to Truman and Agnes Thornton. Ruth was the youngest of eleven children. Her mother died when she was three and Ruth grew up in various foster and family member homes. As a young woman, she traveled to Montana. She married Fred Blaseg in 1947. Read More	Ruth was born of May 29, 1925 in Barton City, Michigan to Truman and Agnes Thornton. Ruth was the youngest of eleven children. Her mother died when she was three and Ruth grew up in various foster and family member homes. As a young woman, she traveled to Montana. She married Fred Blaseg in 1947. They raised their three children in the Clancy area. Ruth was an active member of the Clancy community and participated in many of the functions for the town. Ruth and Fred moved to Townsend, MT in 1987. Ruth had a quick wit and could insert levity into any situation. She was an avid genealogist, researching her family history and had traced her father’s ancestry back to the 1400’s. She was especially proud that one of her ancestors signed the Declaration of Independence. Ruth had an inquisitive nature and eagerly embraced technology. She developed a detailed ancestry chart and carried her kindle everywhere. Ruth expressed her artistic nature through her beautiful hand embroidered quilts, crochet, sewing and baking. The family was always well fed at grandma’s house. Ruth also liked to get in the car and go places. If family came to visit, Ruth made sure they saw all the sites. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, her parents, siblings, and one granddaughter (Tressa). She is survived by her three children, twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
