She was born April 16, 1921, in Defiance, the daughter of Andrew and Alma (Ort) Hohenberger. On January 10, 1946, she married Herman L. "Shorty" Derrow and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1982. She was a member of the Zion's Lutheran Church and its Young at Heart Group and the Kettenring Country Club and its Ladies Golf. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and golfing. She worked at the information desk at the Northtowne Mall from when the mall opened until December... She was born April 16, 1921, in Defiance, the daughter of Andrew and Alma (Ort) Hohenberger. On January 10, 1946, she married Herman L. "Shorty" Derrow and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1982. She was a member of the Zion's Lutheran Church and its Young at Heart Group and the Kettenring Country Club and its Ladies Golf. Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Conrad) "Clip" Clippinger; two stepdaughters, Marilyn McFeeters and Judy (Tom) Stykemain, all of Defiance; grandson, Major Scott (Renae) Clippinger; and two great-grandsons, John and Noah Clippinger. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman "Shorty" Derrow; her stepson, Douglas "Jim" Derrow; her five brothers, Orville, Roy, Paul, Marvin and Don Hohenberger; and her two sisters, D'Nelle Hohenberger and Clara Wolfrum. Family will receive friends Friday, April 27, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. in the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral. Funeral services for Ruth will be Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with Rev. Timothy Reynolds officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.
