Description	:	Ruth Margaret Ottersberg Miner, age 81, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007. She was born Sept. 3, 1929, to Gerhard and Margaret Ottersberg in Waverly, Iowa, as her father was beginning his 50-year career on the history faculty of Wartburg College there. As Ruth grew up and later graduated from that college, it became a shaping element in her life. She was born Sept. 3, 1929, to Gerhard and Margaret Ottersberg in Waverly, Iowa, as her father was beginning his 50-year career on the history faculty of Wartburg College there. As Ruth grew up and later graduated from that college, it became a shaping element in her life. From 1951 to 1959, Ruth taught first grade and kindergarten in public schools in Ackley and in Charles City, Iowa. In 1959, she married Walter H. Miner and they settled in Cheyenne, Wyo., where she found a fulfilling role as wife and mother for the following 38 years. Ruth was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church there. After she and Walt moved to Madison, in 1997, their lives were centered on family and their participation as members of Luther Memorial Church. Ruth is survived by her husband, Walt; their daughter, Margaret of Madison and grandson, Paul; and their son, Robert of St. Paul, Minn. and grandson, Bill. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Luther Memorial Church, 1021 University Ave., Madison, with the Rev. Brad Pohlman and the Rev. Jerry Folk officiating. The family suggests that friends wishing to make a memorial gift might consider Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa or to the Autism Society of America.
