Pastor Dana Lockart will officiate with burial to be held in the Buffalo Cemetery.Ruth Evenson was born February 12,1922 on a cold snowy night in Harding County the daughter of Dale and Wanda (Anderson) Dunn. She attended grade school at the Central Lanesboro school in Harding County and then went on to high school in Buffalo. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1940. After graduation she worked at the First State Bank, the Buffalo Hospital, the AAA office and the Auditor and Treasury office.In April 1946, she was united in marriage to Harry (Jack) Henderson. In 1952, Jack and Ruth purchased the International Harvestor dealership in Buffalo. They were blessed with three boys, Jeffery, William and Wade. In 1973, Ruth married Paul Evenson . They lived on a ranch north of Camp Crook, SD until Paul's passing in 1984. Ruth moved to Buffalo permanently in 1989 and then later to Edgewood Vista in Spearfish, SD were she lived out the remainder of her days. Ruth was a member of the Grand River Lutheran church in Buffalo and was an active member of the community. She enjoyed cheering for the Ranchers and could be seen at most home games. Ruth was born with a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers and keeping a beautiful yard. She enjoyed attending Senior Citizens and was always ready for a game of cards. Ruth was a wonderful cook and her family waited all year for her Christmas carmels.Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly. She is survived by her sons William (Patty) Henderson, Buffalo SD; Wade (Gloria) Henderson, Garland TX; Daughter in law Lynetta Henderson, Buffalo SD, 9 grandchildren, Nick Henderson and Will Henderson of Buffalo SD, Amanda (Mark) Sander, Thornton CO, Chrissy (Josh) Page, Buffalo SD, Sara (Adam) Metzger, Thornton CO, Jenna Henderson, David Henderson, Michael Henderson and Daniel Henderson all of Garland TX, 5 great grandchildren, Abigail, Emerson, Cooper, Carson and Ethan. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, infant son Sage, son Jeff, brother Floyd, sisters Irene and Doris, special nephew Gene, nieces Wanda and Alice and special friend Jr. Vroman.
