Description	:	Ruth M. (Page) Urwin, 90, of Ord died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Valley County Nursing Home in Ord. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ord Christian Church. The Rev. Michael Chase will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Urwin was born Sept. 9, 1908, at home in Ashland, Ill., to Freeman and Bertha (Pieper) Spears. She was raised in Ashland where she attended school and graduated from high school. She married Merle Page on Jan. 2, 1926, in St. Louis. The couple lived in Ashland, Ill. In 1938, they moved to Wisconsin, living there for four years before returning to Ashland. They then moved to Merrick County near Clarks. Her husband worked as a herdsman. In 1945, they returned to Ashland for two years before moving to the Valley County area. They lived there for three years before returning to Merrick County. Her husband died Dec. 25, 1963. She married George Urwin on June 7, 1969. The couple lived in Merrick County. Her husband died June 28, 1975. She moved to Ord in 1980 and became a resident at the Valley County Nursing Home in May 1996. She was a member of Ord Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Marvin Collins of Ord; eight grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, two sons, Asahel and Kenneth Spears and a sister, Elizabeth Surratt. The Grand Island Independent, Feb. 15, 2002
