Born at Wilmot, Carleton County in 1925, she was a daughter of the late Myles and Effie (Lawrence) Buxton. Ruth was a member of the Red Hatters and the Silver Circle Seniors Club in Millville and the Hawkins Corner Ladies Aide. She was a former member of the Progressive Conservative Women’s Association in Temperance Vale. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Curtis, Fredericton, NB, Barbara Chase (Wayne), Hawkins Corner, NB, Thelma Bourne (Wayne), Alberta and Donna Gagnon (Andre), Nackawic, NB; five sons, Chester Grant (Rhonda), Woodstock, NB, Wayne Grant (Monique), Hanmer, ON, Allen Grant (Teresa), Hawkins Corner, NB, Eldon Grant (Alice), Fredericton, NB and Darryl Grant (Charlene), Fort McMurray, AB; a brother, Bill Buxton (Edith), Argyle, NB; a special grandson, David Grant (Sandy), Hawkins Corner, NB and twenty two additional grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, William J. Grant in 1990, two sisters, Rita Hayes and Fern Guerrier and three brothers, Paul, Ora and Dell Buxton. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Horsman officiating. Interment will be in Hawkins Corner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons David Grant, Steven Grant, Darryl Jr. Grant, Mark Chase and nephews, Paul Hayes and Larry Guerrier.
