Description	:	Longtime Shelton resident Ruth Ola Miljour died on Tuesday, September 2, at Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was 71 and had lived in Shelton 45 years. She was born on May 12, 1937 to Horace L. and Ennis (Whalen) Waggoner in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She married Wallace "Wally" Miljour on April 14, 1956 in Olympia. Read More	Longtime Shelton resident Ruth Ola Miljour died on Tuesday, September 2, at Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was 71 and had lived in Shelton 45 years. She was born on May 12, 1937 to Horace L. and Ennis (Whalen) Waggoner in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She married Wallace "Wally" Miljour on April 14, 1956 in Olympia. Mrs. Miljour moved to the Tenino area in 1954. In 1956, she was introduced to Wally for a blind date. It was "the one that worked," recalled her husband. She worked as a nurse's aide at Saint Peter Hospital and Mason General Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Schumacher and Dr. Carte. Later she went to work for the International Woodworkers Local 3-38 in Shelton until her retirement in 1999. She will be remembered by many for her smile at the union hall. Family was of the utmost importance in her life. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She and Mr. Miljour enjoyed traveling and were snowbirds, traveling to Palm Springs, California, Arizona and Lincoln City, Oregon, in their fifth wheel. Mrs. Miljour was an avid reader who liked to play computer games, watch science fiction movies and occasionally frequent the casino. She was a member of a "sewing club," which was actually a get-together of the sisters to play cards. She was a wonderful baker of creme pies, many made specifically for certain family members. She was the glue that held the family together, always making sure everyone attended the family reunions and she always hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities at her home every year. She was preceded in death by her parents and in 2000 by daughter Kathleen Taylor. A memorial service was held on Monday, September 8, at Hope Chapel in Shelton.
