A Napa resident for 50 years, Ruth was born in San Francisco and moved to Vallejo at the age of 5. A 1928 graduate of Vallejo High School, she went on to graduate from the St. Mary's College Nursing Program in 1932. Read More	NAPA — Ruth Gebhardt Nasser-Moore, 85, died peacefully after several years of combating lymphoma at her home, as she had wished, on Saturday. A Napa resident for 50 years, Ruth was born in San Francisco and moved to Vallejo at the age of 5. A 1928 graduate of Vallejo High School, she went on to graduate from the St. Mary's College Nursing Program in 1932. At St. Mary's, she met and later married the love of her life, Dr. George Nasser, who passed away in 1969. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Cassidy Gebhardt and Weseley Gebhardt. Her second husband and traveling companion, A. "Tony" Moore, passed away in 1981. Together they shared a love of the Orient and visited there many times. She was also preceded by her older brother, Charles Tarr, and by her younger brother, Ted Gebhardt, a popular and respected Vallejo educator, administrator and coach. Ruth's only sister, Marshall Gebhardt Thomas, passed away in San Francisco in 1979. She lost her beloved granddaughter, Rebecca Leigh Nasser, in 1975. She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Edward Nasser, and his wife, Carol, who was her loving friend; grandchildren, Noah Edward Nasser of San Diego, and Nicole Patricia Nasser and Jodi Ann Nasser of Napa. She loved and kept in contact with favorite nieces and nephews, Paula Nasser Galinas of Virginia, Julie Nasser Daberkow of Maryland, John W. Thomas of Irvine, Charles Gebhardt of Sacramento, Vern Gebhardt of Manteca and Kevin Gebhardt of El Dorado Hills. Ruth was a very special person who was generous, kind and loving. She had a positive attitude to the end, and would not say an unkind word about anyone. She loved the years she spent in Napa as a wife, mother, and later as a grandmother. Her passions included history and cooking. She especially enjoyed the ability to re-create old country recipes brought to the U.S. from Lebanon by her husband George's parents. At Ruth's specific request, she prefers to be remembered as she was, and no funeral service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel. The family prefers donations to Queen of the Valley Lifeline Service, in care of Queen of the Valley Foundation, P.O. Box 2069, Napa, 94558; the Salvation Army, 590 Franklin St., Napa, 94559; or a charity of the donor's choice. The Napa Valley Register, July 25, 1995 ----- St. Helena Cemetery records appear to indicate that the cremains of both Ruth Nasser Moore and George Nasser were placed in one urn and interred September 11, 1995 at the St. Helena Public Cemetery in St. Helena, CA. NOTE: California Death Index lists Tarr as her father's surname, and Cassidy as her mother's maiden name. -----
