Description	:	Mrs. John Amsler, for many years a resident of Seward but who for the past seventeen years had made her home in Lincoln, died there at 8:15 last Thursday evening, and the remains were brought to Seward Sunday where funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at 3 o'clock that afternoon, conducted by Rev. S. S. Hilscher of Lincoln. Short services were also held at the home in Lincoln at 1 o'clock. The remains were laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery. The deceased was born at Newberg, WV, in January 1852, and was therefore past 74 years of age at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Ruth Price. On September 16, 1874, she was married at Limestone, Ill., to John Amsler, and for more than fifty-one years they lived happily together. In 1877 the family came to Nebraska, locating at Seward, where Mr. Amsler engaged in the blacksmithing business. From here they removed to St. Paul, Nebr., but returned to Seward and remained here until 1909 when they removed to Lincoln, their home being at 2317 Dudley street. Mrs. Amsler was held in high regard by all who knew her and many Lincoln friends accompanied the remains to Seward for the funeral services. She was a true Christian woman, and for many years affiliated with the Presbyterian church, her membership being transfered from the church here to one in Lincoln upon her removal to that city. Floral offerings, the gifts of friends, were numerous and beautiful. She had been in failing health for some time, but her final sickness was of about two weeks duration, during which time she was a great sufferer, but the end came peacefully. She had asked to be removed from her bed to a chair, and Mr. Amsler lifted her from the bed to place her in the chair when she died in his arms. Besides her husband the deceased is survived by two children, Mrs. I. N. Scott of Seward and W. O. Amsler of Lincoln. Five grandchildren also survive her.
