Description	:	Ruth Jellema, 66, of Alton, died Saturday, December 7, 1991, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Alton Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rick Kargard officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. Mrs. Jellema was born April 4, 1925, in Le Mars, the daughter of Matthew and Mabel (Merritt) Roerig. She was raised in Le Mars where she graduated from Central High School. Mrs. Jellema was born April 4, 1925, in Le Mars, the daughter of Matthew and Mabel (Merritt) Roerig. She was raised in Le Mars where she graduated from Central High School. SHe married Onno Jellema May 22, 1943 in Sheldon. The couple made their home in Orange City until 1959 when they moved to Alton. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Bruce and his wife Martha; Tim and his wife Diane and Daniel; all of Alton; and Gary and his wife Debra of Lamberton, Minn.; six daughters and their husbands, Carol and Marion Vander Zwaag of Sheldon; Virginia and Don Konz of Remsen; Jean and Woodrow Wampler of Mesa, Ariz., Mary and Tom Grosenheider of San Antonio, Tex., Nancy and Randy Goedken of Claridon Hills, Ill., and Lisa and Loren Weier of Linn Grove; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maryellen Strub of Merrill.
