She was born November 15, 1922, in Hemlock, to Stacy Royce and Mary Irene (Fye) Davis. She married Robert G. Getz, on November 6, 1942, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1982. Read More	Ruth V. (Getz) Carter, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 9:34 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Wadsworth Pointe Health Care in Ohio. She was born November 15, 1922, in Hemlock, to Stacy Royce and Mary Irene (Fye) Davis. She married Robert G. Getz, on November 6, 1942, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1982. She later married Paul D. Carter on April 20, 1985, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2009. Ruth graduated from Kokomo High School in 1941. She worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Young and Dr. Frank Clifford, retiring in 1972, and had also worked for Woolworth, Reliance Manufacturing, Kingstons, Turners and Armstrong Landon. She was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, provided special music, taught Sunday school and led children’s choir. Ruth was the last living charter member of the church. She also sang on the radio program, Lights of Home, and had traveled on mission trips to Romania and South Africa. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, painting, crafting, and was a seamstress. She is survived by her children, Larry (Vickie) Getz, Carol Candlish and Cathy (Wallace) Newcomb; step-children, Becky (Steve) Moulder, Cathy Carter, Sally Carter, Roger (Barbara) Carter and Kevin (Kelly) Carter; grandchildren, Staci (Aaron) Getz Shane, Amy Candlish, Erica (Michael) Allen, Abby (Steve) Mills, Matt (Kristi) Candlish, David Candlish, Chelsea (Ryan) Pondell, Jeremy (Aubrey) Hostetler, Jonathan Hostetler, Joel (Julie) Hostetler, and Christen (Don) Ellet, along with eleven great-grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Stacy W. Davis; daughter, Beth Getz; and sons-in-law, Jim Hostetler, and Gary Candlish. A memorial service will be held September 27, 2016, at Bible Baptist Church, 2635 S. Dixon Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Keith Treadway officiating. Private burial with family will take place in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, assisted with arrangements.
