Description	:	Ruth Waycaster Fox, age 87, of Newdale, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late James and Cora Biddix Waycaster. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ellis, Lewis and JC Waycaster; two sisters: Amy Styles and Lucy Willis. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Read More	Ruth Waycaster Fox, age 87, of Newdale, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late James and Cora Biddix Waycaster. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ellis, Lewis and JC Waycaster; two sisters: Amy Styles and Lucy Willis. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved working in her flowers and yard but most of all her family was the center of her life. Surviving is her loving husband of 67 years, Sherman Fox; son, Randy Fox and wife, Teresa, of Newdale; daughters: Evelyn Marie Hollifield of Marion, Linda Sue Young of Newdale and Connie Atkins and husband, Bobby, of Newdale; grandchildren: Greg Hollifield, Blake Atkins, Adam Young, Ashley Hendrixon, Alicia Mae Rusk, Steven Young, Taylor F. Buckner and Tim S. Fox: great-grandchildren: Landrey, Morgan and Sawyer Atkins, Trey, Ava and Paxton Hendrixon and Ansley Rusk. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Junior Honeycutt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to say a special thank you to all the staff of John F. Keever Solace Center for the wonderful care given to Ruth. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Yancey County at 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville , NC 28714.
