Description	:	Ruthe Smith McGraw, 90, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2015, at Peace Hospice surrounded by her family. She was born in Oconto, Nebraska on March 13, 1925 to Ray and Elizabeth Smith, and was raised there with her three siblings. Prior to meeting the love of her life, Floyd McGraw, Ruthe worked as an elementary school teacher. On December 15, 1946, Ruthe married Floyd in Cozad, Nebraska. Read More	Ruthe Smith McGraw, 90, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2015, at Peace Hospice surrounded by her family. She was born in Oconto, Nebraska on March 13, 1925 to Ray and Elizabeth Smith, and was raised there with her three siblings. Prior to meeting the love of her life, Floyd McGraw, Ruthe worked as an elementary school teacher. On December 15, 1946, Ruthe married Floyd in Cozad, Nebraska. Three children were soon born to the happy couple. In 1956, Ruthe and Floyd decided to leave Nebraska for employment opportunities in Montana. To pay for gas money, Ruthe sold her Buffalo Head nickel to help their family get to Jardine, Montana. There Floyd worked in Yellowstone while Ruthe chased grizzly bears off of her porch with a broom. They eventually found their way to "The Gulch", where they made their home in the Sand Coulee/Tracy community for the remainder of their lives. Ruthe was always on the go. She worked at the Cascade County Nursing Home for 18 years before retiring and continued to keep busy by showcasing her cooking talents at the Centerville Senior Center until her 77th birthday. For 17 years, her daughter operated a daycare out of Ruthe's home, caring for little boys and girls throughout the community. There, all of the children lovingly called her "Grandma". Ruthe enjoyed her craft hobbies, sewing, and cooking. For 28 years, she wrote a weekly recipe column titled,"Kozy Korner Kitchen" for the Belt Valley Times and the Judith Basin Press. She was always one to offer help to family and friends. Her favorite saying to people who helped her was "thank you much". Ruthe was the last surviving member among her parents and siblings, Preceding her in death were her parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother, daughter in law Karla, and her loving husband Floyd, who she lost in 1971. She is survived by her 3 children; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Complete obituary published in Great Falls Tribune on Oct. 23, 2015
