Born March 9, 1938, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Cross was the son of the late Rutherford Benjamin Cross and Bernice (Blubaugh) Cross. Read More	Cumberland, MD Rutherford Leroy Cross, 79, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born March 9, 1938, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Cross was the son of the late Rutherford Benjamin Cross and Bernice (Blubaugh) Cross. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond Pete Cross and William Cross. Leroy was a United States Naval Veteran having served onboard the USS Wrangell. He was formerly employed with Schmidt Bakery and retired from the Thomas B. Finan Center in 2003 as an Electrician and Refrigeration Mechanic. Leroy was a faithful member of Elliot Memorial United Methodist Church and later the Centenary United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Lay Speaker, Sunday School teacher and choir member. He was also president of the Centerville Senior Citizens Club. Leroy was also a member of the Promise Keepers. Leroys favorite things in life were God, his wife, his family, and especially the little ones. He enjoyed having breakfast with his buddies at McDonalds, playing the guitar and banjo and singing hymns. Leroy will always be remembered for his smile, warm heart, and his unconditional love for everyone he met. Leroy is survived by his wife of 55 years: Leslie A. Cross; and his children: Kimberly Miller and husband, Jeffery; Gerald Chip Cross and wife, Trina; Keri DiNicola and husband, Joe; and Robert Cross and wife, Rachael. He also leaves behind his sister: Judith Tittle and husband, Joe; his brother: Tommy Cross and wife, Marilyn; his brother-in-law: Gerald Darrell and wife, Dianne; his sister-in-law: Judith Milian and husband, Tony; and his aunt: Mae Cross. Leroy is also survived by his grandchildren: Allison Moore and husband, Roger; Kyli Hodel and husband, Tim; Brittani Kesecker: Megan Cross; Courtney Miller and fiancé, Coy Williams; Katelin Shook and husband, Jeramy; Tyler Kesecker and fiancée, Christina Girgis; Tim Cross; Mackenzie Glenn; Kasey Miller; and Chloe DiNicola; his great grandchildren: Kinzie, Kerrigan, and Kaisen Hodel; and Cooper Shook; and a special friend: Charlie Deter. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Leroys life will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at 1:00 P.M., with Reverend Jack George and Reverend Charles Shelquist officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Leroys name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006; or the Centenary United Methodist Church, 14501 Bedford Road, NE, Cumberland, MD 21502
