Description	:	Mrs. Chas. Cott, a long time resident of this city, passed away very suddenly at her home shortly after 5 o'clock Tuesday morning. Mrs. Cott had not been in good health for nearly two years and suffered a severe illness last fall. She had apparently regained much of her strength, however, and had been able to look after her household duties up until the time of her death. Cott, a long time resident of this city, passed away very suddenly at her home shortly after 5 o'clock Tuesday morning. Mrs. Cott had not been in good health for nearly two years and suffered a severe illness last fall. She had apparently regained much of her strength, however, and had been able to look after her household duties up until the time of her death. Both Mr. and Mrs. Cott awoke about 5 o'clock Tuesday morning and she remarked that she thought it was time to get up. Mr. Cott started to dress and while dressing stepped into an adjoining room. He had no sooner stepped out of the bedroom than he heard a slight noise and going back into the bedroom found her breathing her last. Funeral services were held at 2:30 this afternoon at the M. E. church in this city, Rev. W. A. Winter Stein conducting the services. Interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery. Sabina Hines was born near Philadelphia, Pa., Aug. 25, 1851, so had attained the age of 72 years, 8 months and 25 days. Her early girlhood was spent in Pennsylvania but when she was about 14 years of age the family moved to Iowa and settled near Lone Tree. On March 4, 1874, she was united in marriage with Chas. Cott at Lone Tree and they continued to reside in that vicinity until 1883 when they moved to Kimball, S. D. They came to Hawarden in the fall of 1895 and their home has since continued to be in this vicinity. Five children were born to them, four of whom, with the husband, are left to mourn her death. Pearl, the youngest child, passed away about twelve years ago. The chjldren surviving are Lewis M. Cott of Junius, S. D., Sirs. Elsie Sigler and Mrs. Faith Bates of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mrs. Verna White of Hawarden. She also leaves eight grandchildren. Five brothers also survive: N. F. Hines of Hawarden; Jacob Hines of Danbury, Iowa; Will Hines, who resides in Wyoming; Abraham Hines of Dubuque, Iowa; and Hult Hines, who lives in Oregon. The deceased was a member of the Rebekah lodge. During her many years of residence here she won the love and esteem of many friends through her kindness and neighborly attitude towards all and sincere sympathy goes out to the members of the grief stricken family.
