(Sodman) Stutheit Sadie Friedaricke (Sodman) Stutheit, daughter of John H. and Nanka (Kuper) Sodman was born Feb. 6, 1887 in Richardson County, NE. (buried at St. James Lutheran Church, Humboldt Nemaha County, NE.) She was baptized in infancy March 13, 1887 by Rev. W. Beckmann and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith March 31, 1901 by Rev. Ludwig Muller at St.James Lutheran Church. She received her education in the rural school in the St. James neighborhood and grew to young womanhood in this area. April 25, 1906 she was married to Herman J. Stutheit by Rev. E.F. Geyer at the St. James Lutheran Church. After their marriage they lived on the same farm south of Johnson, NE. for 54 years. In 1960 they retired from the farm and built a home in Johnson. Four children were born to this marriage. 2 sons died in infancy(both buried at Stutheit Cemetey). She belonged to the Ladies Aid at St. Pauls (Stutheit) Lutheran Church until that church was disbanded. This past 13 years she and Mr. Stutheit were members of Martin Luther Church. During these years she was a member of the Martin Luther Naomi-Ruth A.L.C. June 12, 1964 she entered the Humboldt Hospital, She had never fully regained her health since that time. Thursday evening April 15, 1965 she was attending Maundy Thursday services at her church when she became seriously ill and died. In addition to the 2 sons who died in infancy, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son Chester Stutheit, who died November 22, 1959 and one Granddaughter, Deborah Kay Rogge and one sister, who died in infancy. Surviving are her husband Herman J. Stutheit of Johnson, Ne. one daughter, Alvera, (Mrs. Henry Rogge) of Auburn, NE. a daughter-in-law Alma, four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Hannah Plager of Auburn, NE., Mrs. Addie Oestmann of Auburn, NE. and Mrs. Conrad A. Harms of Holdrege, Ne. other relatives and many friends. Casket bearers were: Orvill Fass, R.H. Beckmann, Ervin Stutheit, Elmer F. Meyer, August Guenther, and Lawrence Kuhlmann.
