Description	:	Mrs. Sadie Mae Hirtle 1978 Sadie Mae Hirtle, Simpson's Corner, passed away August 4, 1978, at the Western Kings Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for six weeks. Born May 14, 1903, at Albany, Annapolis County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca (Cole) Rhoddy. Surviving are three children, two daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Roswell Hirtle), Wileville; Pauline (Mrs. Hubert Robar), New Germany; son, Ottis, Hemford; a sister, Viola Zinck, Lake Pleasant; seven brothers, Elvin, Mahone Bay; Allister and Leslie, Aylesford; Calvin, Bloomington; Ellis, Nictaux; Carmen, Ontario; Harley, Simpson's Corner. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.... Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by a brother, Henderson, and her husband, Elverd LeRoy. Sadie made her home with a granddaughter, Barbara ( Mrs. Wayne Veinot), Simpson's Corner for about the past six years. She was a member of the Simpson's Corner Community Club in which she took as active part. A member of the United Church, her funeral was held from Emmanuel Church, Hemford, Sunday, August 6, 1978 at 2:30 p.m., Rev. R. Crozsman officiating. The choir with Mrs. Ellis Wile as organist sang "What A FRiend We Have In Jesus," and " Saviour Like a Shepherd Lead Us." She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Hemford Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold Wile, Aubrey Garber, Edwin Lohnes, Milton Snyder, Foster Veinot, and Glenn Woodworth. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
