Description	:	Informaiton provided by 8/7/2012 by Kathy Weaver - Salathiel Timmons, a native of Ohio, married Lydia A Bennett of Clark County, Ohio, on 26 Nov 1859. They moved to Illinois in 1860. While a resident of Illinois, Salathiel served as a volunteer in the Civil War. He was a resident of Coles County, Illinois, when he enlisted as a Private at the age of 27 years on 1 Aug 1862. Read More	Informaiton provided by 8/7/2012 by Kathy Weaver - Salathiel Timmons, a native of Ohio, married Lydia A Bennett of Clark County, Ohio, on 26 Nov 1859. They moved to Illinois in 1860. While a resident of Illinois, Salathiel served as a volunteer in the Civil War. He was a resident of Coles County, Illinois, when he enlisted as a Private at the age of 27 years on 1 Aug 1862. He mustered in Co A 123rd Illinois Infantry on 6 Sept 1862 and served for a period of three years. He mustered out 6 Jun 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. After his discharge, he returned to Illinois. In 1881 the family emigrated to Boone County, Iowa and in 1888 to Mills County, Iowa. In 1904 they moved from the country to the city of Malvern. Salathiel and Lydia had two (known) children: Charles and Effie. Lydia died in 1906. While in the army, Salathiel suffered a severe attack of typhoid fever, losing for a time the power of speech. He never recovered his full strength. He suffered from his first stroke in 1902, had a second stroke in April of 1909, and a third stroke in May which caused his death. He died at the age of 74 years 3 months 14 days.
