Read More	source: Arlington News, August 14, 1902 DIED. Sallie Rawson, Aug. 5th, 1902. Sallie Heath was born in Eden Cataraugus, Co. New York, July 27, 1822. She was married to Orange Rawson in 1839. After a few years of married life, she was left a widow, he being accidentally killed. To them were born four children, Mrs. Laura Haxton, whose death we so recently deplored, Deloss Rawson who resides on his farm near Taylorsville, Delia Stephenson, of Winona, Minn., who has helped in the care of her mother during her last illness, but is unable to be present at her funeral, William Rawson who is a resident of Arlington, Iowa. About 1848 she was united in marriage to George L. Rawson. In 1853 they moved to Brush Creek Fayette Co., Iowa. He died Jan. 15, 1885, at their home in Taylorsville, Iowa. To Mr. and Mrs. George L. Rawson was born one son George L. Rawson who now resides in Arlington, Iowa, and, with whom his mother made her home during her widowhood of nearly eighteen years, and by whom with the assistance of his wife and children she has been tenderly cared for during her long and trying illness which for the last six months has required the most constant attention and care. In an early day the home of Aunt Sallie (as she was known far and near) was ever a hospitable one, where everyone received a cordial welcome. She was a faithful, loving wife and mother whose heart was formed for ties of home, and we know her pains and cares are past. We will not grieve that she is at rest, "Soon she will welcome us forever to her home among the blessed". She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Arlington for many years. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the home of her son, George L. Rawson, and was conducted by Rev. Hoskyn, of the M.E. church, and interment was had at Taylorsville.
