She was born on December 2, 1942 in Swanton, MD and was the daughter of the late Edward Francis Armstrong and Florence Elruthie (Hall) Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Getson, Jr. and three sons Junior and James Getson and Larry McKenzie. She was a member of Easton Church of God, Easton, MD. She is survived by two sons, James Getson, III, Lonaconing, MD, and Ernest Getson, Cordova, MD: three daughters, Janice (Getson) Dubeau, Cordova, MD, Audrey (Getson) White, Denton, MD and Robby (McKenzie) Nicol, Cumberland, MD; three sisters, Hattie Grimm, Front Royal, VA, Betty Armstrong, Meyersdale, PA, and Frances Muir, LaVale, MD; a brother, Clarence Armstrong, Laurel, MD; several grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request she will be cremated. There will be no visitation. A Grave side Service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. George Loar officiating. Arrangements are by Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. (www.eichhorn-mckenziefh.com), Lonaconing, MD.
