Description	:	Sally Jo Oswald, age 74, of Lowden, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 12, 2017, in her home in Lowden. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. There will also be a visitation held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sally’s favorite charities in her memory. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Sally Jo Domalla was born April 3, 1943, in Clinton, the daughter of Harold Henry and Mary Lorraine (Curran) Domsalla. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1961. She then attend Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, Kirksville, Missouri. She married Bruce Oswald in 1968 in Clinton. During their marriage they lived in many U.S. states including, New York, California, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and others, as well as several years in the former Yugoslavia. Along with their young daughters, they enjoyed travels across Europe and Egypt. They divorced in the late 1970’s. She was employed with The Job Corps in Clinton and the Davenport location of the Iowa State Department of Human Services, where she worked in support of elderly, disabled, and nursing home clients and from where she eventually retired. She had been an active board member of the Scott County Miss America Pageant and also headed runner registration for the Moonlight Chase in Eldridge, for several years. She participated in various activities through Gilda’s Club, a cancer support organization. She was a member of Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) and served as their local historian. She treasured her family and took special pride in her grandchildren and took delight in attending school activities, sporting, choir and musical events as well as being involved in their day-to-day lives. She enjoyed years of get-togethers with her special Tuesday lunch buddies and tirelessly supported her Iowa Hawkeyes. Her unassuming manner and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her two daughters, Dawn Wilken of Pleasant Hill, CA, and Kim (Richard) Jones of Lowden; four grandchildren, Erica, Kira and Parker Jones, and Cassidy Wilken; two sisters, Sandra (Wayne) Huebner of Madison, WI, and Susan Domsalla of Clinton; two nephews, Brent and Keith Huebner, both of Madison, WI; and many close friends, all of whom supported and assisted her. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Harold Domalla. Chapman Funeral Homes
