Died of Diptheria, on the 18th inst. At the residence of her father in Perry Township, Samantha Alice, only daughter of David and Elizabeth Capper, aged 10 years 7 months and 21 days. Little Samantha was one of those lovely children who are admired by all who surround them. A child of rare beauty, and mild and amiable disposition. By her death a blooming bud has been nipped by chilling frosts, but it now blooms again with Angels! For some weeks past her leisure moments were employed in committing to memory "select pieces" for recital at the close of school. In a few days the school will close and the hearts of her schoolmates will be filled with gloom and her teacher will no doubt shed tears because the little "loved one is gone", but through Faith may see her reposing softly in the arms of the Blessed Redeemer who has said suffer the little children to come unto me of such is the Kingdom of Heaven. Those alone who witnessed it can imagine how touching was the scene when her teacher placed n the little lifeless hand a bouquet of flowers she so much cherished Snow Drops and Forget-me-not those little emblems seemed to speak volumes to the soul. But the little "household treasure" has passed away like a dream in life's Auroral morn she has fled from the cares and sorrows of time, and is now tuning her golden harp in the celestial chimes of glory.
