Description	:	Highland Recorder November 9, 1906 The death angel visited our neighborhood and took away Mrs. Samantha Ann Ralston. Her maiden name was Hook, daughter of the late Milton Hook, who preceded her to the grave over two year ago. She was born in 1843 and died Oct. 23. 1906. She was 63 years, 8 months old. (As printed in the Recorder). She was married 29 years ago to D.C. Ralston, and to their union nine children, eight of whom survive her. Mary died in infancy. C.W., H.V., C.G., D.C. Jr. Misses E.M., 0.H. D.P. and B.V., for whom much sympathy is felt on account of their affliction. Her body was brought to Seybert Chapel the following day by Undertaker Hicklin. Service was conducted by A.A. Walker, of Monterey, and Rev. Roane, of McDowell. Death was due to cancer of the breast. She had an operation performed two years ago but of little use, and she went to two hospitals this spring, but they could not help her. She has been a great sufferer Her constant words were, "Lord have mercy on me". She leaves an aged mother to mourn her loss and much sympathy is felt for her and all her relatives.
