Description	:	Sammie Bevill was born to Finis Euin and Sarah Arabelle Cantrell Bevill. He was named Germmie at his birth, but it wasn't a name he had liked. When he was older, the county courthouse burned down. When he obtained new records, he changed his name to Sammie. When he registered for the draft, he was asked for his middle initial which he didn't have. That did not satisfy those that were registering the men. The Bevill name changed down through the years and had multiple spellings, but Sammie always spelled his last name with two "ll's", as did his children. Sammie Bevill was married 3 times. First, he married Marie Redmon, the daughter of Robert and Minnie, on 01 Oct 1926 in Benton County, Tennessee. He was divorced before the 1930 Census on 22 Apr 1930 where he is found living with his ex brother-in-law in Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan. Second, he married Sylvia Lorean Lower Johnson on 22 Jul 1930 in Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana. After Sylvia's death, Sammie married Ovie Scott in 1948. They remained married until Sammie's death of a heart attack at a florist in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee where they resided. No children were born to Sammie in his first marriage to Marie. He and Sylvia had 4 children together and raised one child from an earlier relationship of Sylvia's.
