(Polly) and Docia. following the death of Catherine, he married a widow, Sarah Garver Lyons and they were the parents of five children: John Henry, William Asa, Maria A., Sarah E and Israel Washington. His remains were first buried on the family farm but later they were moved to Preston Cemetery. Sampson was one of the first trustees of Marion Township.	His first wife was Cahterine Trump.
