Description	:	Samuel Alden Boles, oldest son of Jonathan and Margeann Boles, was born in Marcy Township, Boone County, Iowa, February 15, 1856. Living in Boone County, until 1880 he purchased a farm near Runnels, east of Des Moines, and made this his home for seven years, when he located in Pomona, Calif. There he remained until the time of his death, which followed upon a short sickness of two weeks. Mr. Boles died at his home, 766 E. Read More	Samuel Alden Boles, oldest son of Jonathan and Margeann Boles, was born in Marcy Township, Boone County, Iowa, February 15, 1856. Living in Boone County, until 1880 he purchased a farm near Runnels, east of Des Moines, and made this his home for seven years, when he located in Pomona, Calif. There he remained until the time of his death, which followed upon a short sickness of two weeks. Mr. Boles died at his home, 766 E. Second Street, Pomona, on Wednesday Sept 21, aged 71 years 7 months and 6 days. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. A sister, Mary Frances was taken at the age of fourteen and another sister, Mrs. Margaret Cruse passed away two years ago. Mr. Boles never married but made many needy ones his friends and generously supplied the needs of those whom he loved and who gave him a wealth of affection in return. He is survived by six brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Jane Curell, of Boone, Iowa; C.E. Boles of Los Angeles, Calif; A.S. Boles of Ogden; Mrs. Emma Smith of Boone; Mrs. David McLeod of Marcy Township, and F.L. Boles of Alhambra, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. F.L. accompanied the body of their brother which arrived in Boone last Thursday morning He was admitted to the Masonic fraternity in Moingona 40 years ago.
