Description	:	Cherryvale Daily Republican The funeral of Samuel B. Burge was held at the home Tuesday in charge of Rev. E. C. Dunn of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and not with-standing the mud there was a large attendance. Rev. Mr. Dunn gave a splendid funeral address. The music was funished by Mr. J. Oscar Brown and Wm. M. Scott. Interment was in the Baker cemetery northwest of Burlington. Samuel Backus Burge was born July 8, 1842 in Union Ohio and departed this life March 11, 1923 at Burlington, Kan., at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 3 days February 2, 1865 he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Grubb in Union County, Ohio, where they resided until 1879 when they emigrated to Oklahoma. Seven years later they moved to Burlington and have resided in this vicinity ever since. To their union six children were born, four sons and two daughters. Two of the sons and one daughter preceeded their father in death. Those surviving are Samuel A. Burge of Burlington, Will R. Burge of Cherryvale, Kan. and Mrs. Mary Knoblock of Burlington, together with Mrs. Burge. Mr. Burge was converted at an early manhood and always lived a consistent Christian life. He has been in failing health for a long time and for many weeks has been confined to his bed, gradually growing weaker.
