Description	:	Obituary from unknown source: “Sam Zink, 92, longtime Green Mountain area farmer, died at Marshalltown Community Hospital Sunday evening where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Born May 5 1888 at Blooming Grove, Wis, he was the son of George and Mary Lizzie Clifcorn Zink. He received his education in Wisconsin and Vienna Township and was later graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. After completing his education, he taught in Vienna No. 5 School. Read More	Obituary from unknown source: “Sam Zink, 92, longtime Green Mountain area farmer, died at Marshalltown Community Hospital Sunday evening where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Born May 5 1888 at Blooming Grove, Wis, he was the son of George and Mary Lizzie Clifcorn Zink. He received his education in Wisconsin and Vienna Township and was later graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. After completing his education, he taught in Vienna No. 5 School. On Jan 12, 1916 he was married to Edna Marie Lane and they always farmed in the Green Mountain area, retiring in 1957. Mrs. Zink died in 1941. Also preceding him in death was a son, Melvin, two brothers and two sisters, one of the sisters in infancy. Mr. Zink was a member of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ, Marshalltown Men’s Choir and active in the Democratic Party. Surviving are three sons and four daughters. Eldon Zink of Laurel, Majorie (Mrs. Rodney) Simpson of Gladbrook, Doris (Mrs. Mahlon) Weller of Route 1, Clifford Zink of Conrad, Jean (Mrs. Jim) Gogg of Mason City and LaVern Zink of St. Anthony and Darlene (Mrs. Howard) Hammer of Lynnville. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a sister Olive (Mrs. Bill) Everist of Marshalltown, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held a 11 a.m. Thursday from Estel-Perrin Chapel with the Rev. David Taylor of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Green Mountain Cemetery.”
