Description	:	s/o Roger Giddens & Magdalene (Fitzgerald) Samuel father died when he was 15 years old (Goodspeed Pulaski County Mo. Biographical Appendix pg. 783 & 784)He married Elizabeth Jane Brown in 1827 Tennessee. They had 15 children together. As the story go's he died from pneumonia,and was buried by his sons by the Gasconade River along side the Old wire road between Richland & Waynesville. His final words to his sons were, "Stand by the Union Cause!" Samuel was a Carpenter he built in 1852 the principal part of the town, for Mr. Coppage, and got to name it Relfe. It was a well-known town on Spring Creek in Pulaski Co. now in Phelps Co. Mo. The Federal Government & Senator Danforth now own the land that the town once stood. Samuel also built the 1st house in Marshfield Mo.
