Description	:	Samuel joined the Methodist Church at age fourteen and was soon licensed to exhort. He was stricken with typhoid fever while in Greeley, Co. Although he was brought home to Shelby and cared for by his sister, he died on 26 Oct 1900, just three months before his class was due to graduate from Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln.
