Description	:	Samuel James Henderson was born in September, 1848 near Millersburg, Ohio. At the age of eighteen he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church. Two years later he was married on Christmas day to Miss Rachel Ann Livingston. In 1878 Mr. and Mrs. Livingston moved with their family to Kansas. They homesteaded at Buckeye near Kanopolis and later lived for several years near Ellsworth. After thirty-six years on the farm Mr. and Mrs. Henderson moved to Wichita in 1914. Those surviving are Mrs. Annie Knight, Wichita; Mrs. Lena McCormick, Ashton, Idaho; Mrs. Hattie Brady, Carneiro, Kansas; Mrs. Maggie Allen, Ellsworth, Kansas; Mrs. Frances Ruenholl, Wichita; Mrs. Maud Parker, Denver, Colo.; and two sons, Henry of Carneiro and Walter, 1702 Ida Ave., and one brother, David Henderson in Iowa. Mr. Henderson had been in failing health for some time and passed away suddenly of heart failure January 14, 1933, aged 85 years. The body was taken to Ellsworth for burial.
