Death was due to a heart attack similar to one which brought death to Mrs. Jarvis at 10 p.m. Sunday. Time of Mr. Jarvis' death was after 4 a.m. Tuesday. Although Mrs. Jarvis had been in ill health for the past two years she had received callers Sunday and her condition seemed about as usual. Mr. Jarvis had not been considered in particularly bad health and his death was entirely unexpected. The daughter of Samuel and Charlotte Lind Casten, Mrs. Jarvis was born in Louisa county on April 1, 1875. On November 16, 1898, she was marred to Samuel Jarvis who survived her but a few hours. Samuel Jarvis was the son of Myers and Jane Blair Jarvis. He was born on the Jarvis homestead, west of Morning Sun on June 2, 1872. Both he and Mrs. Jarvis were life long residents of this community. They are survived by four sons and four daughters: Don, Annabel, Mo.; Clifford, Sidney, Nebr.; Arthur, Pueblo, Colo.; Harold, Morning Sun; Mrs. H. R. Shrimpsher, Waynesville, Mo.; Mrs. Mabel Nelson and Mrs. Alma Gruendick, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Elda Houlihan of Morning Sun. Two sons and two daughters are dead. Mrs. Jarvis is survived by a brother, Conrad Casten of Morning Sun and Mr. Jarvis is survived by two brothers, Z. H. Jarvis, Morning Sun, and Myers Jarvis, now living in a Columbus Junction nursing home. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren and one nephew. Double funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in the Presbyterian church with Rev. Floyd Bowerman officiating. Private services will be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Pierce funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
