Description	:	OAKLAND — Samuel Joseph Glotfelty, 74, of Oakland, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. Born Feb. 28, 1936, in Freeport, W.Va., he was the son of the late Edward G. and Thelma G. (O’Haver) Glotfelty. Mr. Glotfelty was a truck driver and also worked for Deer Park Water Plant, Beachy Lumber Co. and Maryland State Highway Administration. He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church, Woodmen of the World, Lodge 11 and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by a sister, Janice A. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 203 S. Second St., Oakland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Skipper officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Garrett County Humane Society.
