Description	:	According to family legend, Samuel and seven younger Kirkpatrick brothers sailed from Dublin, Ireland in the year 1842 and came to America. They went to Fayetteville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, then on to Steubenville, Jefferson County, Ohio. The lure of the west took them on to Mark and Monteray, Davis County, Iowa. The rest of their lives were spent here and their descendants have spread to all parts of the United States. Samuel met Annie on the boat, who was traveling with her aunt, uncle and cousin.
