Eaton was one of four children born into the home of James and Nancy Eaton, the others being: Mrs. Sarah A. Laughlin (deceased), Mrs. Elizabeth Beight, and James (deceased). The father was born in Washington County, Penn., about the year 1809. He learned the cooper's trade, and worked at it for about ten years. Eaton was one of four children born into the home of James and Nancy Eaton, the others being: Mrs. Sarah A. Laughlin (deceased), Mrs. Elizabeth Beight, and James (deceased). The father was born in Washington County, Penn., about the year 1809. He learned the cooper's trade, and worked at it for about ten years. In the year 1821 he removed to Ohio with his parents, who settled in Middleton Township, and there he remained for the balance of his days. He married Nancy Meek in 1833. She was the child of Samuel and Elizabeth Meek, mention of whom is made in another place. James Eaton died from the effects of an accident caused by the running away of a pair of horses that he was driving, in 1847. His wife died January 20, 1888. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Samuel M. Eaton was born in1834. When twenty-six years old, he married Miss Almira Fronk, daughter of George and Rebecca Fronk. Three children are the fruit of this union, George H., John F. and Nancy M. Mrs. Eaton died in 1868. His second wife was Mrs. Mary Palmer. She passed away in August, 1870. His present wife was a daughter of Washington Flowers. Sylva C. (deceased), Fred C. and Laura L., are the children of the last marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Eaton are members of the United Brethren church, of which he is a trustee. He was also a township trustee for three terms on the Republican ticket, and in 1869 was elected assessor of the township, and has served two terms, His farm is one of the best in that locality, and exhibits the care and attention bestowed upon it. Blake in 1870. They had 4 children. On January 11, 1885 Eva Ann, now going as Effie Blake, married Samuel M. Eaton. Between Dec 1885 and Oct. 1898 they had 6 children. She died on April 9, 1904 according to the Glenview Cemetery Burial Records. Her head stone reads Effie Flowers Eaton b 1855 d 9 Apr 1904. I can not find a death record for her but created a memorial #155901144 Samuel Eaton's sister Elizabeth married Franklin Beight. Eva Ann's daughter by Thomas Blake, Elvina F. Blake, married David Tobias Beight, Franklin's son.
